Top 60
ways to lose weight or burn fat
51. Walk
the dog
52. Walk
someone else's dog
Ask first.
53. Mow
the lawn
54. Mow
the neighbors lawn
Ask first.
55. Buy
a pedometer
Every step
you take burns a little weight. So count them with a pedometer.
I could tell you should do thousands more but the reality is every
one helps. If you can measure how many you are taking it is more
of an incentive to take more.
56. Eat
only when you hear your stomach growling
We often
we eat out of boredom, nervousness, habit, or frustration. If
you're really must eat a specific food, it's probably a craving,
not hunger. If you could eat a horse you're truly hungry - but
a carrot would be a better choice.
57. Look for volunteer work
An example
might be weeding local parks and reserves.
58 (41).
Ride a bike
If you can,
ride your bike to work.
59. SOS
- be prepared for a "special occasion setback"
"Go
on - its your birthday". Special occasions are all potential
disasters. We all fall sooner or later. A few steps to redemption:
1. One bad
day does not undo all your good work unless you let it.
2. Be kind
to yourself - we are all human.
3. Pick yourself
up and start again. Ok, so you eat all the chocolate in the house
and then went next door and ate all of theirs. It's done. It's
over. Lets start again with what you were doing before. That was
one step back. Now its time for two steps forward.
4. What triggered
the relapse? Is there a way to reduce the chances of it happening
again? This is a good time to talk to someone - maybe the chocolate
less neighbor?
60. Eat
Seaweed
British scientists
say seaweed could be the answer. A fibrous material in sea kelp
called alginate was better at preventing fat absorption than most
over-the-counter slimming treatments. Laboratory tests for a University
of Newcastle study showed
alginate. had the potential to reduce the body's fat retention
by more than 75 per cent.
